Jason, our master brewer, is a Charleston original—a Lowcountry native with a passion for crafting stellar beer. He met Mary, his high school sweetheart and now co-owner, at Summerville High, and by eighteen, they were married in a whirlwind of young love. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, Jason brought his bride back to Charleston to put down roots, raise a family, and build a life worth celebrating. Working two jobs so Mary could stay home with their kids, Jason was all heart and hustle, shaping a bright future one day at a time.

In 2000, a friend introduced Jason to craft beer, and he was instantly smitten. What began as a garage hobby turned into a full-blown love affair with brewing. He helped grow Lowcountry Libations, Charleston’s homebrew club that’s still thriving today. With a shelf full of homebrew competition awards, Jason’s beers were too good to keep to himself. He and Mary dreamed big: a brewery to share their flavors with the world. In 2019, with their youngest daughter off to chase her own dreams, they teamed up with family and friends to transform a 30-year-old paint and body shop into the warm, welcoming Edisto River Brewing Co. you see today.
